Craft Beer & Brewing Issue 2

Some new work I shot for the second issue of Craft Beer & Brewing which has just come out. Look for it at your local home brew shop, watering hole, and grocery store. I saw it at my grocery store this morning, actually. "That'll just be bacon, eggs, laundry detergent, a pair of oversized sunglasses, Frampton Live on 8-track, oh, and what's this new magazine you seem to be carrying?... Yes, I did find everything I needed today." Another great issue jam-packed with everything you need to know about saisons, saison yeast strains, the saison philosophy, hops, cellaring, and more cooking with beer recipes. There's just not enough time in the day for all this saison!

Sochi

Some recent shots of our latest foster, Sochi. He's a chihuahua mix that we've had for the last five weeks, but it looks like he's finally found a home. We'll miss him for sure as he's a great little guy. He reminded me of Peter Dinklage in Game of Thrones; he may be smaller than everyone else, but he's smarter, more clever, and more charming. A very tenacious and playful dog, he was not afraid to mix it up with our two dogs, Buckwheat and Hazel, who are four times his size. Good luck and godspeed little one. "Are your ready, Sochi?" "Yipe! Yipe!"

At the Craft Beer & Brewing Launch Party

Last night was the Craft Beer & Brewing launch party at the Denver Beer Co. in, you guessed it, Denver. It was at the end of the first day of the Craft Brewers Conference week. Which sounds like a not terrible way to spend a week. Anyways, great turnout and great wings with great beer! Not a terrible way to spend an evening. Now it's time to release it out into the world and let it do its thing. Fair thee well little magazine bird, fair thee well.

Craft Beer & Brewing

Over the last few months I've had the privilege to shoot for the premiere issue of Craft Beer & Brewing. It was exciting to see it take shape over that time. When I first spoke with them in January it wasn't much more than a collection of ideas and a pocketful of dreams, and now it is something that is tangible, something that can be held and something to behold. At the risk of evoking Bill Hader's Stefon, this magazine has everything: tips from micro brewers, head brewers, and the humble home brewer; an in-depth look at the foeder forrest of New Belgium Brewery; reviews of 40 IPAs (I've tasted and compared 12 so far); the best definition of "complex" flavor I've ever heard (any definition which includes "used Kleenex" has my vote); gear reviews; recipes to brew your own IPAs; and recipes that include cooking with beer (milk stout brownies?! Yes!), and much much more. There's enough here to propel your piquant explorations for quite a while. I believe it will be available, out there somewhere in the ether, April 8th, so be on the look out. I can't wait to get started on the next issue and do it all over again. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a home brew that needs bottling. Cheers!
