Canyon

Canyon is our second foster dog through All Aboard Animal Rescue. He's a 1-1.5yr old German Shepherd/Husky mix. He was found one morning leashed to the shelter. He had a huge 24in. slash on his back between his shoulder blades like someone had cut him. He also has a club foot. His back paw was not fully formed when he was born. Both the cut and his foot were badly infected which he made worse from over licking. Now, the cut on his back is healing nicely, however, his foot is still bandaged up. He goes to the vet twice a week to have it checked out, medicine applied, and re-wrapped. It seems like quite the painful process, but Canyon handles it with dignity and not even flinch. I went with him and took pictures of the ordeal (see below). All the vet care is graciously donated through Animal Hospital of Colorado and Dr. Boehmer. Canyon holds no grudges despite all he's been through. He's the kindest and most even tempered dog. He's starting to get a bounce back in his step and loves to go on walks even with a bum foot. He can't be stopped! He's certainly an inspiration.
